The purpose of the Passion for Awareness award is to reward those webmasters of personal sites that have undertaken the task of educating the internet community on a subject that they feel passionate. This is usually evident in site design, content and a general emotion that is conveyed. I want to see a site in which your personality shines through. This award has to be won; it is NOT a "gimme". I use a specific scoring criteria and provide that sheet to you for feedback at the end of the process, should you win an award. The process begins when I receive your application. We are C.O.P.P.A. compliant. Due to other family safe organizational requirements, we will not accept applications from children under the age of 16. If your form is filled in correctly and your site meets the Criteria, I will review your site submission for any possible disqualification points. If points of disqualification are found the evaluation will be discontinued. If no points of disqualification are found, the process will continue. All submissions for awards application are reviewed by me. I've been working with computers for the past 20 years. Many of those years have been managing technical help desks for some rather large corporations, ISPs and internet based. I hold several certifications in the area of computers, English, customer service, HR,management and others. I run my own computer shop part time and have developed several websites as a designer. I am an editor for the ODP/DMOZ project and About.com. Upon completion of the site review,
those that win will receive an email of congratulations and
the appropriate award graphic as an attachment . You will also receive a checklist/scoring sheet. Decisions are final; however, you may resubmit your site after
90 days for re-evaluation. I will post all winners on the winners' page. All Gold winners will have a description of their site as well as a screenshot of their site linked back to them placed on the winners page. All other award winners will have only their site name and a link to their site.
As soon as your application form is received, I put the site in queue based upon the number of applicants and the order in which they were received. I will send you an email with a code number and URL in which you can check your status. Within 7 days, I do the initial screening - Phase One. I look for immediate disqualifiers. The site then either gets tossed out due to disqualification or moves on to Phase Two. In this stage, I review your site completely, make my evaluation and move the site to the next step. This process can take several days. Phase Three is the awarding of graphics for the winners. I will send you a congratulatory email, an attached graphic and a copy of your score sheet. For those that did not win an award, I will send an email detailing why you did not win at this time. The entire process can take up to four weeks. Please be patient. I do try and evaluate submissions as soon as received.
